positions. Purpose of the Position:Under general supervision, this
position is responsible for investigating, analyzing and correcting
problems of supplier parts to ensure the quality of these parts
from the development phase until the end of the life cycle by
collaborating cross-functional partnerships within the company
(worldwide) and with suppliers within the NAFTA region.Essential
Functions: For new product and current series activities, lead the
VDA-RGA activities with the NAFTA supply base. Work with other
Daimler plants and departments to assure Start of Production
(SOP).Create and align the production part approval process (PPAP)
per AIAG or VDA guidelines. Conduct performance tests and set
boundary samples. Report part readiness for launch to management
team. Validate fixture and gauge concepts and capability. Validate
the actual suppliers and conduct potential analysis. Provide
lessons learned from current running series to improve future
projects.Perform VDA 6.3 audits at suppliers and monitor supplier
performance to Daimler's targets and standards. When needed
facilitate improvement plans using problem solving and continuous
improvement techniques.Manage international production part
suppliers (in NAFTA region) in regards to quality concerns and
change implementation. This includes communicating all part &
process issues and coordinating countermeasure activities. Ensure
process planning and cross-functional activities to achieve the
quality, safety and production goals of Daimler.Open to travel
within NAFTA region frequently.Perform safe work practices and
participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and
proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations,
standards and laws. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and
injuries to supervisor or Human Resources.Work safely 100% of the
time.Perform other duties as required.QUALIFICATIONS: Education,
Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify
for position.Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or in a related area, and/or
the equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years' of relevant professional experience
in the following area(s):Supplier Quality role within a
manufacturing environment. Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:
Strong planning and problem skills required using established
methodologies including 8-D, 5-Why, etc.Strong communication skills
are required, as well as the ability to communicate complex topics
into a cross-functional and cross-cultural environment. Knowledge
of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Access) Capable of using
hand measurement tools (i.e., calipers, micro-meters) PC skills
along with strong analytical and problem solving skills PPAP and
audit experience Working knowledge in VDA RGA and Failure mode and
effects analysis (FMEA)Expertise in requested commodityExperience
in leading task forcesPreferred Skills:Six-Sigma
greenbelt/blackbeltVDA 6.3 as well as tooling knowledge.Foreign
language skills - German or SpanishSponsorship is not available for
