Job Description Job Description Join Our Excellent Team Of Experienced MechanicsMechanic Sylacauga, AL We are on the hunt for an experienced Mechanic at our Sylacauga, AL terminal. The Mechanic is responsible for repairs and the maintenance of Class-8 diesel powered tractors and tank trailers, both internal and external customers, as well as ensuring the road worthiness of company equipment. - We operate late model tractors and trailers! - Up to $30/hour based on experience - 1st Shift: 7:30AM - 2:30PM - $1.00/hour 2nd Shift Differential - 2PM - 10:30PM The ideal candidate will have: - Maintenance background in the trucking industry - Experience with Kenworth tractors - Experience with Cummins engines. Responsibilities: - Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers while utilizing personal safety equipment as required - Move trucks and trailers in and out of shop for maintenance - Open repair orders and charge the appropriate parts to the repair order - Perform tire inspections/appropriate paperwork to company standards - Perform shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as other miscellaneous related duties as assigned - Inspects and maintains basic vehicle/accessorial worthiness including proper fuel levels and tire air pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and safety equipment and submits reports indicating condition of equipment - Comprehend and perform Driver Vehicle Inspection Repair (DVIR) process - Install, diagnose and repair Geotab telematic devices - Perform trailer preps - Trailer and hose inspections per HM-183 standards - Perform work on frame rail and sub frame - Possesses and demonstrates the ability to perform assigned tasks in a manner that adheres to the companies Safety, Health, Environmental and Security policies Diagnose and repair: - Tire/wheel - Brakes & Air Systems - Clutch, Linkage and Transmission - Mud flaps/hangers - Air intake system - Start, charging and electrical systems - Landing gear and attachments - In transit heat systems - Coolant Systems - HVAC System - Fuel System - Exhaust Systems - Electrical Systems - Steering and Suspension Benefits: - Paid vacation and holidays - 401k (Company % Match) - Medical, Vision, Dental Insurance, Company Life Insurance Policy - Weekly pay & additional benefits Requirements: - ASE certification not required but recommended - Computer experience a plus - Must provide own hand tools About Us J&M Tank Lines, Inc. is a family owned and operated company, running the Southeast and Texas, that has been in business since 1948.
