Job Description: U.S. Pipe and Foundry is seeking a Drafter in
Hoover, Alabama. The successful candidate will play a key role in
providing support to the Sales Department and U.S. Pipe Customers
by providing professional specification review, material take-offs,
advice, training, and quotation entry. Role Summary: Supporting
Sales and Customers by providing professional specification and
contract drawing review, developing product layout design drawings
with accurate construction bills of material for release of
manufactured products (including pricing from Sales Dept.
direction), value engineering, providing advice and training. As
for all employees, this individual is expected to demonstrate our

and teamwork. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Review plans,
specifications, and sales quotation for preparing drawings. Produce
layout drawings with complete bill of material required to build
project to customers for approval. Coordinate with customers to
revise/update/value-engineer the construction bill of material
until final approval for manufacture. Use sales quotation and final
negotiated sales price basis to re-price project BOM. Release
material for manufacturing with Project Managers/ISR’s as
necessary. Provide backup support for Estimator, Project Manager,
Inside Sales Reps, etc. when required by Managers. Perform other
duties as may be assigned by Managers. Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 2-year Technical Degree, Drafting Certification, or
equivalent experience. 2 - 4 years related work experience
preferred. Civil 3D, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Raster Design, Revit, or
other 3D software experience. Experience in the construction field
or civil engineering field, such as an estimator, draftsman,
designer etc. Great mathematical skills. Ability to interpret
contract drawings and review project specifications accurately.
Excellent computer skills. Ability to work together with others
effectively in team-oriented processes. Eager to learn and grow
within our company. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The
employee will be working in an office environment with limited
business travel. However, it will require some business travel to
customer sites and to the various pipe plants, thus exposing the
employee to Foundry operations. The employee will be exposed (very
briefly) to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and
Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as
Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles. The employee will be required
to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing,
Walking, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Reaching, Talking, Seeing,
