Position Title Director of Rural Clinics - Mercer Medicine (Southwest Georgia) Department Division School of Medicine Vacancy Number 21-208 Work Location Macon, GA Job Type Full-time Job Category Staff Responsibilities The Director of Rural Clinics - Southwest Georgia (The Director) independently performs the day-to-day management of Mercer Medicine Rural Clinics in the Central, West and Southwest Region. The Director will manage clinic operations including, but not limited to: revenue growth, human resources, physician productivity, and service line development. The Director ensures that the revenue cycle remains effective in producing established revenue goals and is responsive to the needs of Mercer Medicine patients, providers, staff and the rural communities we serve. Collaborates with the Chief Operating Officer of Mercer Medicine, the Managing Partner of Mercer Medicine, the President of Mercer Medicine and the Executive Director of Finance & Administration for Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM) to prepare the Rural Clinic Mercer Medicine (MM) Practice Plan component of the annual operating and capital budgets. The Director of Rural Clinics - Southwest Georgia will help identify and develop clinics in the designated region. This position will act as the Human Resources liaison between the rural clinics they manage and MUSM's Director of Finance and Operations and complete all personnel paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Extensive travel is required. Required Qualifications A bachelor's degree,--preferably in business or healthcare management, from an accredited college/university is required along with at least five years of prior relevant progressive management experience in a healthcare environment, which must include general budgeting experience. In addition, knowledge of provider billing, collections, credentialing, compliance, regulatory guidelines, fee schedules, financial reporting, practice plan, hospital systems, and financial systems software is required. Candidates with a MBA or Master's in Healthcare Management are desirable. The successful candidate must have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:--

• Human resource management, budget planning, information management, business and clinical operations and professional responsibility.
• This position requires the ability to interpret financial analysis regarding physician productivity, operating expenses, and the revenue cycle.
• The Director will work from a private office setting but will be expected to travel to off-site practice locations and to off-site business meetings regularly and/or on a weekly basis.
• In depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel for budgeting, preparing numerous financial analyses and in-depth reports using multiple sources of information to advise the President of Mercer Medicine, the Managing Partner, the Executive Director of Finance & Administration, and University officials.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word for preparing report documentation and professional correspondence.
• In-depth analytical skills for formulating recommendations to the Chief Operating Officer, the Managing Partner, the Executive Director of Finance & Administration regarding the Mercer Medicine annual budget and clinician productivity performance activity.
• Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (eClinical Works - ECW) used by MM/MUSM in performance of duties as The Director.
