The Position
- The Director of the Cancer Center is responsible for the
high-level operational, quality, financial, and patient safety
functions throughout the Cancer Center for DCH Health System and
will oversee approximately 55 FTEs.
- Reporting to the VP of Ancillary Services, the Director will
develop, implement, and monitor all strategic planning as it
pertains to fiscal or operational growth within the Cancer Center,
and will develop programmatic and clinical goals accordingly.
- The Director will be responsible for the growth and development
of medical oncology, hematology, specialty pharmacy, and radiation
oncology programs. In addition, the Director will help to develop
and plan the future of DHC Health System's Multidisciplinary
Oncology program.
- Serving as an extension of the executive leadership team, the
Director will manage the Cancer Support Services Team by providing
strategic leadership for social work, dietary nutrition, palliative
care, and oncology outreach.
- This leader will be responsible for the oversight of the MD
Anderson Certified Member Affiliation in addition to maintaining
the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and the
American Society of Clinical Oncology Quality Oncology Practice
certifications through the close monitorization of local, state,
and federal compliance regulations.
- Seeking a hands-on leader who will play an active part in the
hiring, training, and ongoing education within the department while
prioritizing the overall achievement of departmental,
organizational, and individual provider goals.
- The Director must display compassion, patience, and passion as
they strive to create and maintain positive working relationships
with nursing staff, physicians, and executive leadership members to
ensure high levels of collaboration, communication, and employee
engagement throughout the Cancer Center.
- Candidates will ideally bring previous management experience
within an oncology related setting and will be equipped to drive
accountability while strategically improving outcomes and
growth.
Requirements
- Master's degree is required.
- A minimum of 2+ years of managerial experience within an acute
care setting is required; Oncology experience is preferred.

DCH Health System has been providing quality health care services
for nearly 100 years to citizens in West Alabama through its three
hospitals and 800+ acute patient care beds, 122 nursing home beds,
and nearly 5,000 total employees.
