Job Summary: The Assistant Manager for Circulation Services assists
in the planning and oversight of the development, implementation,
and delivery of circulation services within a designated
Library.
Additional Department Summary: This position serves as the night
facility coordinator for Bruno Library and assists in Rodgers and
Gorgas Libraries as needed. This includes the following: securing
the buildings at closing, supervising student employees, assisting
with new student employee training, assisting patrons, assisting
with Inter-Library Loan and Document Delivery Service by filling
requests, and serving as the point person for any emergency
situation for UAPD or UA facilities. The position provides
technical assistance and support related to computer systems,
hardware, and software to patrons as needed. The position handles
book stack maintenance and tracing missing books in Bruno and may
also serve as a back-up for 24/5 in Rodgers Library. The position
contributes to programs and services related to Research Data
Services. This includes the following: preparation of reports,
updating social media and library websites, and preparing materials
for classes and workshops sponsored by University Libraries. This
position participates in the Libraries chat service and performs
general reference services for students, staff, and faculty.
Position collects, reports, and analyzes statistics related to
library and resource services usage. Staff positions in the
University Libraries can be moved to different library buildings on
campus based on needs assessments. The position is typically
assigned to evening or weekend hours, but hours may be adjusted as
library hours change.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2)
years of progressively responsible library experience; OR
Associate's degree and four (4) years of progressively responsible
library experience; OR High school diploma or GED and six (6) years
of progressively responsible library experience.
Skills and Knowledge: Strong communication skills needed in order
to report issues to faculty, staff and students. Must be able to
multi-task and organize workload with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory experience in preferred,
preferably in a library environment. Good understanding of computer
systems, mobile devices and other tech products. Ability to
diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
