Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities: Work with our processing plants to
drive continuous improvement through yield and quality improvements
while driving cost and variation reduction. Responsible for
establishing statistical process controls at all locations on KPIs
and products while working with the facilities on shop floor
implementation and training. Assist plants with statistical data
analysis on current processes/ products and new process capability.
Manage existing and new processes including directing continuous
improvement activities to improve processes and product compliance
performance. Maintain communications within and between various
functions and areas in the company while effectively managing
activities that assist plant operations. Effectively work with the
innovation team on projects from concept, inception, through final
deliverables while ensuring requests are process capable. Ensuring
business processes and projects are focused on areas of opportunity
for increased revenue, product growth, and cost savings.
Physical Demands: Standing/sitting/walking 100% of the workday.
Lifting various weights on an as-needed basis. Work Environment:
Ability to work in a damp, warm, wet environment and also at normal
room temperature. Position Type and Hours: Flexible schedule is
required including but not limited to days, nights, and weekends
Travel: 50 % of the time with 1-2 nights away from home during any
given month.
Qualifications for Position
Skills and Abilities: Leader, problem solver, team player; standard
computer skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills;
must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing
with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management as
well as government officials. SPC skills are required. Must be a
change agent to bring improvement ideas to the table for the Team.
Education and Experience: College degree preferred and/or 5-10
years of proven leadership; at least 2 years of supervisory
experience in a meat processing facility (poultry) preferred;
knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HAACP regulations. Schooling or prior
use of SPC is required. Other Qualifications: Lead people by
example; accept and delegate responsibility and display sound
judgment and decision-making skills; problem solve in an efficient
manner with sound follow-up; strong managerial skills necessary;
excellent safety and attendance records required; proven ability to
work with department heads to meet safety, production, quality, and
yield goals; Note: All Team Members are responsible for safety.
