Job Description:

The Regional FSQA Manager provides leadership and guidance to all assigned locations. The role is responsible for all activities of the FSQA departments in support of Peco values. Candidate must have a strong plant process auditing skill set. Responsibilities:
Assure that FSQA staff conduct all required task in a safe manner. Enforce all safety protocols; Lock out tag out during preop, appropriate PPE, etc. Assure that team member safety incidents are addressed immediately at all locations. Define and execute new and continued development plans for FSQA Managers, Superintendents, HAACP Coordinators, and Supervisors at all assigned locations. Fill staff vacancies with competent and qualified candidates. Assure that assigned locations are compliant with all Peco Foods policies, regulatory requirements and customer programs and specifications. Provide revisions to policies based on customer, regulatory, and certification criteria updates in consult with the Corporate Director of FSQA. Assure FSQA departments are compliant with all monitoring, verification, and the associated documentation in adherence to government regulations. Oversee developing, implementing and maintaining the HACCP, PCQI, SOP, GMP and SSOP based programs. Provide revisions to the programs based on regulatory changes in consult with the Corporate Director of FSQA. Provide support to locations with in-plant or district FSIS personnel with regard to plant regulatory compliance, when needed. Review regulatory testing and non-compliance trends; initiate further planned actions with locations as negative trends indicate. Support plant locations in the event of district audits for food safety or animal care as needed. Audit plant FSQA facility staff product inspection practices to assure conformance to customer product and label specifications; Review plant data weekly for critical customers and initiate action when data indicates out of compliance situations. Assure that FSQA salaried team members are conducting verification activities and address when non-conformances are noted. Follow-up on product issues and audit results with the plant, plant management, corporate sales, and/or operations; assist with investigations and customer responses when needed. Support customer visits and needs at assigned locations. Assure, through routine auditing, that customer reports and information exchange systems are maintained by the locations as required. Review microbiological results for locations and assure that plant responses to out of compliance identify root cause and verify that appropriate corrective actions are implemented as prescribed to improve results. Audit preoperational and operational sampling procedures on routine plant visits to assure compliance to SOP's. Correct any deficiencies in conjunction with Lab Services Manager. Assure that all required internal, regulatory, and customer audits are completed as prescribed and audit findings are responded to accordingly within the expected time frame. Participate in customer plant visits, customer required meetings, store visits or other customer support visits or meetings for assigned locations. Other duties and projects as assigned to meet the business needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge associated with food safety, animal science, natural science or technical field normally acquired through a bachelor's degree or higher in academic study, or related job experience essential to the job. Standard computer skills required; generating spreadsheets and developing templates for use by plant management and corporate FSQA, sales and operations. Utilize customer information exchange systems and company. Certification for GFSI scheme, BRC or SQF. Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal, demonstrating the proven ability to correspond with all levels - line team members to corporate management, customers, and regulatory agency. Prior managerial experience of salaried managers is preferred. Cross-functional team participation with other business units.
Preferred Skills:
Minimum 5 years of prior industry experience preferred. Experience with USDA regulated products, poultry preferred, Par-Fry or Ready-to-Eat Food Service and National account FSQA experience is a plus. SPC experience and/or certification and ERP or other automated data collection systems experience. PAACO certification.
