College of Health and Human Sciences is currently recruiting for a
Director of Nursing, a 12-month, tenure track position with
academic rank commensurate with education, experience, and
expertise. The Director provides administrative leadership in
developing, maintaining, evaluating, and revising the baccalaureate
program in nursing ( BSN ). The primary responsibilities for this
position include visionary and strategic leadership for advancing
student success in the BSN program. In addition to the general
oversight of student success, the director will be responsible for
strategic planning related to student success, including
recruitment of students, retention strategies, providing faculty
development activities related to student success, and data
collection and analysis related to the student experience and
placement of graduates. Additional responsibilities include
interacting with other departmental and university leaders to
achieve student success goals. Primary Function of Organizational
Unit North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is
an 1890 land-grant doctoral research university dedicated to
learning, discovery, and community engagement. The University

education, and community service. The Director reports to the
Associate Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Services.
Applicants are required to have an earned doctorate in nursing or
related discipline; a minimum of 5 years of
leadership/administrative experience in undergraduate and graduate
education, and an established record of teaching, practice,
scholarship, and service consistent with the rank of associate
professor. Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Desirable characteristics include experience leading organizations;
developing and evaluating programs; curriculum development and
evaluation; program evaluation, and accreditation; strategic
planning and implementation; ability to work collaboratively with
diverse faculty, staff, and students; experience in recruiting,
supporting, and retaining faculty; ability to promote nursing
research, education, and service; evidence of building partnerships
at the local, state, national, and international levels; and,
experience in fund-raising. Required License or Certification
Unrestricted RN License. Able to practice in North Carolina.
