Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: ICU - Cardiac Specialty Job Duration: 15 Weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU with cardiac experience required; 3-5 years CVICU preferred License: Must have a compact license or relevant state license Certifications: ACLS & BLS required Must-Have: - Experience with hemodynamic management - Ability to read and interpret telemetry - Competence in performing EKGs - Proficiency in phlebotomy - Familiarity with Swans Ganz, chest tubes, central lines, and cardiac drips/titration Job Description: - Engage with a high-paced cardiac ICU environment handling both medical and surgical cases. - Nurse responsibilities include managing fresh open-heart patients, step-down rooms, admissions, and discharges (not applicable for travel nurses). - Required experience with special procedures like IABP, Impella, lobectomy, and thoracotomy (background preferred for travel nurses). - Responsible for providing care post special procedures like hypothermia treatment and managing complex patient diagnoses. - Required to float between similar units and potentially the emergency department as needed. - Must manage time efficiently and ensure quality patient care is maintained. - Will work with Meditech EMR and need to have preferred experience with it. - Navy scrubs to be worn. - Orientation includes 1 day in the classroom and 2 days on unit. - Requires working every other weekend and flexibility to float within expertise. - Strict attendance discipline is expected. - Must handle shift requirements that include night duty and adherence to holiday request policy. Further, travelers may choose one holiday leave in the timeline provided, with options for additional days off surrounding the chosen holiday. Orientation is 16 hours.
