Job Title: RN - Transitional Open Heart Unit Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Transitional Open Heart Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00-07:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years required (considering candidates with 18 months experience in the specialty) License: Registered Nurse State License or Compact License Certifications: AHA BLS Must-Have: Willingness to float to different units/hospitals Description: Our Transitional Open Heart Unit is dedicated to patients diagnosed with both neurological and cardiac conditions, such as congestive heart failure or acute stroke. This is a 42-bed unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio. The unit is staffed with a group of highly skilled nurses trained to work with these specific diagnoses. The team prides itself on being experts at managing complex neuro-cardiac conditions with precision and compassion. Collaborating with cardiologists and neurologists, we ensure best practice standards of care for this patient population. Candidates should have an associated degree in nursing. The position is clinical and patient-facing. The facility uses Meditech for electronic medical records. The dress code is solid navy scrubs. Candidates must be flexible in their work schedule, with an option to work 36 or 48 hours per week. The position is part of a new or expanded service line.
