Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required; 18 months may be considered if working under the highest level of professional license in the specialty field. License: Registered Nurse State License or compact license (No temporary licenses accepted) Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Must-Have: Experience in telemetry monitoring and acute medical needs. Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals. Job Description: - Provide care in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), which specializes in medical and surgical care. - Deliver patient-centered care to assist in recovery with the goal of achieving optimal outcomes. - Focus on pain management, mobility, and prevention of complications. - Care for medical patients, including those requiring dialysis and telemetry monitoring. - Care for surgical patient populations, including orthopedic procedures and general surgery. - Work within a nurse/patient ratio of 1:6, supported by a Team Leader who is out of staffing. - Provide care in a 24/7 acute care unit accommodating up to 36 patients. - Foster a culture of family and teamwork within the unit. - Wear solid navy scrubs as per dress code. - Utilize the Meditech electronic medical records system. - Ensure a pleasant and comfortable experience for patients in a safe and secure environment.
