Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical-Surgical Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months to 2 years License: Registered Nurse State License or Compact License (No Temporary Licenses accepted) Certifications: AHA BLS Must-Have: Experience in the field of specialty Description: This role involves working in a Medical Respiratory Unit that specializes in the care of acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Nurses in this unit have a 1:6 ratio and provide care to primarily respiratory patients. Common conditions include pneumonia, shortness of breath, COPD, and other various lung diseases. The unit also provides care to a variety of medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, and occasional stroke and surgical patients. Patients benefit from daily rounds with the entire interdisciplinary team. The unit includes an 8-bed respiratory step-down area with a 1:4 nursing ratio. The nurse must be willing to float to other units and hospitals if needed. Shift options include working 36 or 48 hours per week, with guaranteed hours set at 36. The setting is clinical and requires patient-facing interactions. A solid navy dress code is expected as a part of the uniform. Experience with Meditech EMR is required. Orientation and timesheet approval will be managed internally. This position is a replacement for a previously contracted role.
