This role involves assessing patient health conditions, monitoring cardiac telemetry data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage diverse patient needs. The position requires strong clinical skills in med-surg and telemetry nursing, critical thinking abilities, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and professional ethics. /n /nEssential Work Functions: /n /n/n /n/t - Explains procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding /n/t - Administers prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards. /n/t - Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions, documenting changes and reporting concerns to the care team /n/t - Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians during treatments, and monitor patient responses /n/t - Maintains a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgical procedures /n/t - Document comprehensive patient information, including vital signs, medications, treatments, and care outcomes, in the medical record /n/t - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, physical therapists, and social workers, to create and implement individualized care plans /n/t - Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care based on acuity and clinical needs /n/t - Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed, including hand hygiene and PPE use /n/t - Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences, ensuring they are respected and integrated into the care plan /n/t - Facilitate discharge planning, coordinating with patients, families, and external resources to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home /n/t - Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice /n/t - Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards /n /n /nRequired Essential Skills: /n /n/n /n/t - Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills/n/t - The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language is required/n/t - Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills/n/t - Physical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending/n/t - Interpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism/n/t - Technical/Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment./n/t - Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure.
