Full Time/ 40 hours Monday - Thursday: 8:00am-5:30pm, Friday
8:00am-12:00pm - Tuscaloosa, AL - Competencies: Demonstrated
ability to assess and manage clinical programming and services for
those experiencing a mental health crisis. Excellent professional
verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to
interact with adults and families in a respectful and sensitive
manner. Demonstrated ability to coordinate with other agencies and
other divisions within Indian Rivers Behavioral Health (IRBH).
Demonstrated ability to provide supervision to staff assigned.
Excellent ability to comprehend and maintain program standards.
Ability to effectively manage, organize and report data to ensure
successful programs & services. Ability to work under pressure and
complete multiple tasks throughout the day. Essential Functions &
Responsibilities: Serve as the manager of clinical services and
clinical staff at the crisis center. Direct and organize the
functioning of programs; identify problems, evaluate alternatives
and implement effective corrective measures. Manage bed census and
direct Crisis Center admissions, programming, and discharges.
Ensure compliance with ADMH, IRBH and other regulatory agency
standards and policies/procedures. Keep Crisis Center Director
apprised of critical issues. Write program narratives and
procedures in a timely manner, as applicable. Ensure that
contractual agreements and program standards/objectives are met.
Establish and lead program planning, development and implementation
of goals and objectives that support the Crisis Center's mission.
Monitor contracts and budget as appropriate. Monitor caseload and
productivity of staff and ensure that staff provides quality
services. Effectively collaborate with Crisis Center team members,
IRBH departments and outside sources in the delivery of services.
Effectively demonstrate the application of clinically specific
competencies. Take calls from staff about emergencies or critical
issues after normal work hours and on weekends /holidays, as
necessary. Communicate information about Crisis Center expectations
and operations; receive feedback from staff, clients, community
stakeholders, families of clients, and identify potential and
existing problem areas and propose possible solutions. Ensure
effective initial and ongoing staff training. Ensure the delivery
of quality clinical services throughout all Crisis Center programs.
Evaluate, supervise, coordinate and direct all non-nursing clinical
treatment programs of Center. Develop, maintain and monitor
clinical programs, program descriptions, clinical policies and
procedures and clinical data of Center. Collaborate with other
managers and coordinators to identify gaps in clinical services,
and develop and implement plans to correct deficiencies. Monitor
clinical documentation to ensure compliance with DMH standards,
Medicaid guidelines and IRBH policy and procedures, and other
generally accepted professional standards. Analyze and monitor
service data to ensure that programs are meeting service needs.
Ensure confidentiality of treatment services to all consumers. Keep
abreast of current DMH standards as they apply to mental health
services and the Crisis Center, as well as current events and
industry trends affecting the Crisis Center. Administrative and
Other Related Duties as Assigned: Actively participate in Center
committees as required. Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Objectively complete employee evaluations on supervised staff and
route to HR in a timely manner. Provide staff with consultation and
supervision as needed, individually or through group meetings.
Provide positive and effective leadership. Ensure that all assigned
duties are implemented according with IRBH and DMH policies and
procedures. Ensure that all state and Medicaid standards are
maintained. Ensure all safety, fire prevention, and health measures
are followed while on duty. Maintain communication and awareness of
current events by reading memos, e-mails, bulletin boards, and
communication logs and respond in a timely manner. Work
independently and/or with teams to complete assigned tasks
accurately and in a timely manner with minimum supervision. Support
Organizational Code of Conduct, Standards Compliance, HIPAA and
Security Programs by ensuring job tasks are performed in a legal
and ethical manner, assessing the work area for non-compliance and
notifying the Crisis Center Director or designee as appropriate,
and maintaining training requirements and understanding that
training is a required condition of employment. Maintain the
confidential nature of all consumer and organization related
activities by not divulging information outside the facility,
discussing information within the facility on a need-to-know basis,
acknowledgingpolicy annually by signing confidentiality statement,
and by referring media and general inquiries to the Crisis Center
Director. Adhere to attendance and punctuality policy by allowing
adequate time to arrive, clock-in and assume responsibilities at
designated time, adhering to meal and break times and making timely
requests for annual leave and reporting the need for sick leave in
accordance with policy. Comply with all standards related to safety
and health by maintaining current TB Test, CPR/First Aid, CPI, and
by reporting infections and on-the-job injuries in accordance with
policy. Devote 40 hours of work per week to the completion of
duties outlined in the job description. More than 40 hours of work
per week may be required to meet job responsibilities and
deadlines. Work cooperatively with Human Resources to properly
interview, screen and make appropriate recommendations regarding
new hires, staffing needs and qualifications. Monitor and address
absenteeism and/or performance problems. Collaborate with HR on all
employee disciplinary issues and in implementing disciplinary
actions. Represent IRBH in an accurate and professional manner.
Maintain and support open communication among staff. All other
duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Crisis Center
Director. Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in psychology,
social work, or counseling with 3 year's post-Master's relevant
clinical experience. LPC or LICSW required. Or Master's in
psychiatric nursing with 3 year's post-Master's relevant clinical
experience. License required. Current Alabama driver's license and
good driving record as defined by Indian Rivers' policy. Must be
able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English. Working

Works in general office environment and in residential facilities;
may require long hours. Must have use of sensory skills to
effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the

capability to effectively use and operate office related equipment,
such as, but not limited to, computer, copier, multi-line phone and
fax. Some risk involved in the event of aggressive/out-of-control
consumers. Must possess a valid Alabama driver's license. Physical
