Certifications: ACLS, BLS & NIHSS Must-Have: Must submit proof of
certifications with application. Description: Critical care
registered nurses are skilled in providing care for patients with
severe medical conditions. These may include heart attacks,
strokes, shock, severe trauma, and respiratory distress. The role
involves assessing patient conditions and planning and implementing
care plans. Nurses are responsible for treating wounds and
providing advanced life support. They assist physicians in
performing procedures and observing and recording patient vital
signs. Ensuring the functionality of ventilators, monitors, and
other medical equipment is also part of the job. Nurses administer
intravenous fluids and medications and perform suctioning
procedures. Collaboration with team members in critical care is
essential. Responding to life-saving situations using nursing
standards and protocols is a key responsibility. They act as
patient advocates and provide education and support to patient
families. Critical care nurses may care for pre- and post-operative
patients as well. Some may serve as case managers or engage in
