The Security Supervisor Shift Sergeant will act as a liaison between site supervisor, Account Manager/Field Operations Manager and professional security officers. Security Supervisor Shift Sergeant Starting Base Pay: $16.00 an hr.Primary Function

  • Assists the Security Supervisor in the supervision and direction of security and fire specialist personnel and activities designed to protect and preserve corporate assets and personnel.
  • Through supervision of Security Officers and Fire Specialists the position is responsible for the protection of Company location property and the safety of employees working therein by implementing and monitoring loss prevention programs established for this purpose.
    • Advises and reports to the Security Supervisor, by verbal and written report, matters affecting the operation of the department and plant
    • Major Duties of Position May Include (Final determination made at site level)
    • Directs and monitors the activities of all employees on one shift in the performance of their duties.
    • Responsible for the quality of work performed by their subordinates.
    • Develops and maintains lines of communication with Plant Management at all levels.
    • Responsible for enhancing and maintaining a favorable image and attitude among their subordinates.
    • Assists in the implementing and monitoring of loss control programs.
    • Provides the Security Supervisor with quantitative and qualitative feedback on the performance of their shift.
    • Responsible for the specialized technical duties relating to the proper functioning of the access control system and/or fire system.
    • A Lead Officer will perform many non-traditional tasks including Console Room monitoring, FMS data management, lobby attendance, badging operations administration, office administration /scheduling and report taking and writing.Knowledge & Skill Requirements
      • A thorough knowledge of physical security and fire prevention principles and techniques.
      • Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments; Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; maintains confidentiality; listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control
      • Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for goals; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan
      • Oral Communication - Able to speak and understand English language; speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; participates in meetings; Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; able to read and interpret written English
      • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics
      • Ability to monitor the performance of subordinates and provide the necessary training and guidance to get the job done.
      • Knowledgeable of security management principles.
      • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
      • Education - Requires 5 years' experience in Corporate Security, Physical Security, Loss PreventionQualifications/Requirements:
        • At least 21 years of age
        • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years verifiable experience
        • Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines
        • Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting;
        • Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions
        • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
        • Driving Positions: must possess a valid Driver's License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.
        • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test, may be required to pass Drivers Record check
        • Intermediate computer skills to utilize innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
        • Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
        • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills

        • Able to:
          • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
          • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
          • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
