Job Description Job Description Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II Alternate Job Titles: Patient Services Representative (PSR II) Certified Phlebotomist Mobile Phlebotomy Technician Patient Service Center Phlebotomist Location: Alton, IL On-site Flexibility: On-site Contract Details Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start: As Soon As Possible Pay Rate: $25/HR Shift/Hours: Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM 4th Saturday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM Job Overview The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, delivering exceptional phlebotomy and patient care services . This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring all procedures are performed safely and accurately in accordance with established standards. The PSR II builds trust with patients while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism. Assignments may include work in a doctor’s office or Patient Service Center based on business needs. Key Responsibilities Perform daily specimen collection and processing accurately and on time. Draw quality blood samples including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections . Conduct forensic and clinical specimen collection following established procedures. Verify patient demographic information and confirm specimen labeling in the patient’s presence. Maintain required documentation and records with attention to detail. Promote a safe, professional, and patient-centered environment. Travel to multiple Patient Service Center/In-Office locations as needed with minimal notice. Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and maintain a positive public image. Required Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent (Required) Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred) Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA) Work Experience 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience (required) Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (required) 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred) Customer service experience in a retail or service setting (highly preferred) Keyboard/data entry experience Skills & Competencies Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced environment Strong independent decision-making and judgment Superior customer service and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in high-volume settings Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call coverage Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable) Work Environment & Additional Details Onsite role in Alton, Illinois Travel required between multiple locations Temporary coverage due to employee leave No hospital credentialing required No COVID-19 vaccination requirement Benefits Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans 401(k) Retirement Fund About the Company A leading provider of diagnostic information services , leveraging one of the world’s largest clinical laboratory databases to empower healthier lives.
