Job Summary: The IT Technical Specialist IV performs advanced IT
activities for specialized, complex and/or functional areas
requiring the expert knowledge and professional application of IT
principles, practices and techniques in accordance with industry
standards and university policy. Requires a great amount of
evaluation, originality or ingenuity. May be responsible for
training, assisting or supervising lower level IT personnel and
other staff. May lead projects and cross-functional activities.
Additional Department Summary: This position supports the
functionality and availability of enterprise-wide mission critical
University and non-critical systems by performing intermediate
level systems engineering and administration independently or under
very limited supervision. Will provide system and application
administration responsibilities for multiple systems to provide
desktop deployment to the campus community. This position drives
endpoint management and deployment strategies for Windows/Apple
devices. After hours monitoring of systems health and performance
may be required.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and one (1) year
of IT experience; OR Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of IT
experience; OR Associate's degree and five (5) years of IT
experience; OR High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years of IT
experience. Knowledge of advanced programming, networking, system,
multimedia, instructional or security technology skills or
knowledge of project management methods and applications. May
require advanced level training or certification.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have
valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at
time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in
compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21
will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Experience with established Microsoft system
management tools (SCCM, MEM, Intune, etc.) and/or Apple system
management tools in an enterprise or high-profile environment.
Experience with Operating System and software deployment in an
enterprise or high-profile environment. Experience in scripting,
packaging, and software deployments, as well as third-party system
management applications.
Preferred Qualifications: In depth knowledge of one or more of the
following applications: MECM, SCCM, Intune, Jamf, PDQ, software
packaging/scripting. Prior experience working in a system
engineering/administration environment, including cloud services,
performance tuning, and application/server hosted environments. At
least three years of verifiable experience administering Microsoft
and third-party system management tools, including SCCM, MEM,
Intune, Jamf, PDQ, Ghost, Patch My PC, etc.
