Job Summary: The Director of OTIDE Technology oversees all IT
functions handled at the department level. Represents college's
needs and interests with central Office of Information Technology
(OIT). Partners with OIT on projects and issues as needed and
adhere to OIT policies, procedures, and guidance. Manages resources
of assigned areas to accomplish goals and objectives. Supervises IT
and other staff, as well as provide guidance and direction to other
OTIDE staff.
Additional Department Summary: Delivers innovative and sustainable
technological solutions, systems, and infrastructure to support the
business objectives of the Office of Teaching Innovation and
Digital Education's (OTIDE) various departments. Serves as the
strategic technology leader and liaison with the University's
Office of Information Technology. Manages cloud-based software,
centralized registration system for continuing education units.
Supports the hardware and unique software operations in all OTIDE
facilities and departments, including the UA Teaching Academy, UA
Testing Center, and University Hall conference, training, and
classroom spaces. Oversees the SalesForce Business Software
platform. Leads a complex and highly technical team of
professionals. Seeks effective business solutions to emergent
issues. Embraces and exercises a continuous improvement mindset.
Negotiates technical contracts on behalf of OTIDE. Oversees areas
within the OTIDE Instructional Technology framework (IT Support, IT
Innovation & Discovery, Audio Visual Systems, Coding & Development,
Salesforce Administration, Web System Management, and JAMF).
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and six (6)
years of IT experience; OR master's degree and four (4) years of IT
experience.
Skills and Knowledge: Effective record of managing complex teams of
technical employees in a higher education environment. Experience
managing enterprise systems serving multiple constituencies.
Effective communication skills. Experience overseeing and/or
leading system implementations, integrations, and upgrades. Ability
to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated commitment to stakeholder engagement in solution
finding. Demonstrated success in identifying and addressing the
technological needs of departments, administrators, and customers.
Demonstrated proficiency with collaboration building involving
internal and/or external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree. Experience integrating
software and working with multiple systems across different
organizational entities. Personnel management experience. Coding
experience.
