Job Description Job Description We are looking for a
detail-oriented Purchaser/buyer to join our clients team in the
Troy, Michigan area. In this role, you will play a crucial part in
sourcing, procuring, and managing materials essential for business
operations. Your ability to evaluate suppliers, negotiate
contracts, and ensure timely delivery will contribute significantly
to the success of theri organization. The Purchasing Buyer is a
full-time, on-site role responsible for placing purchase orders for
materials, products, and services to support company operations.
This position tracks material deliveries, reports stock shortages,
and collaborates closely with internal departments to align
purchasing decisions. The role also maintains supplier
relationships while ensuring compliance with company policies and
procedures. Responsibilities Create and issue purchase orders based
on production and operational requirements Communicate with vendors
to confirm order status and ensure timely delivery Identify
potential vendors and obtain competitive quotes Cross-reference
product deliveries against purchase orders for accuracy Maintain
accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery schedules
Resolve supplier-related issues including performance concerns,
delivery delays, and quality discrepancies Collaborate with
internal departments such as production, scheduling, project
management, order entry, and logistics Work closely with operations
to ensure material availability supports production plans Maintain
ordering requirements for service equipment and packaging materials
Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred High school
diploma or GED required 3 years of experience in purchasing,
procurement, or related administrative roles preferred Familiarity
with inventory management processes Skills & Competencies Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills Strong ability to build and
maintain supplier relationships Highly organized with strong
attention to detail Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and
work in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with ERP systems,
QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office
