one (1) hard-working, dedicated person to join our SDS Benchman |
Hammerman team in Northport, AL. Come and grow with us! Pay range
starts at $17.50/hour depending on experience. What you will be
doing: Inexperienced benchmen start by learning to work safely in
the saw production environment Operate alternately more than one
type of machine or tool such as hammers (up to 10 lbs.), stretcher
rolls, plate leveling machines, gauge grinders and hammer grinders
etc. Set-up and operate all available machine tools Perform
progressive operations on work involving close tolerances or
unusual requirements Skillfully uses hand tools and measuring
instruments Perform complex operations in support of production
operations under limited supervision Additional duties as assigned
What we are looking for: Mechanical aptitude Ability to accurately
use hammer, level, gauges, micrometers and calipers 2 years
manufacturing production experience High School Diploma or
equivalent (required) Vocational trade school or equivalent program
a plus Familiarity with working properties of various materials to
match customer requirements Demonstrated lean techniques and
ability to meet TAKT times Ability to work as part of a team, with
behavior that upholds company values and standards Strong
interpersonal and communication skills Promote safety in the
workplace and adhere to the safety standards of the company Ability
to lift to 50 lbs. frequently. Ability to stand at a minimum of 8
hours per shift Ability to work overtime when needed Burton Mill
