Clinician II - Diversion Team TherapistAdult MI Outpatient ServicesFull-Time: 40 hoursMonday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm Tuscaloosa, AL - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Competencies:In-depth knowledge of psychotropic medications - purpose for usage,administration details, possible complications, side effects, interactions.Excellent ability to work within the program and agency to effectively servethe needs of the consumers.Proven superior psychotherapeutic skills, including individual, group andfamily modalities.Knowledgeable in cultural diversity and excellent ability to work with otherprogram staff and consumers in a collaborative, cooperative, and supportivemanner.Must successfully complete case management training.Must possess effective understanding of therapy techniques used with the SMIpopulation.Must possess excellent verbal/written communication skills & ability toorganize/prioritize a variety of tasks.Must possess excellent ability to comprehend and maintain program petent computer skills.Demonstrated excellence in all areas of documentation. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Essential Functions/Responsibilities:Complete intake of new Diversion consumers within 72 hours of referral tothe program; determine the need for treatment and treatment modalities indicatedper IR policy; ensure that the consumer meets the criteria for admission to theprogram based on state standards.Evaluate/screen consumers' presenting complaints and mental status anddocument appropriately.Coordinate appropriate referrals to inter- or intra-agency resources.Provide individual, group, family therapy and crisis intervention toindividuals on the team as needed.All such services must be "medicallynecessary".Complete treatment plan reviews every 3 months, assessing goals, objectivesand consumer compliance for the re-certification of services.Recertification ofthe service must be supported by documentation of benefit of the service. Mustget signed by MD or licensed Therapist.Assume responsibility for all consumers on the team.Work collaboratively with Diversion team members to establish and adhere toa structured, daily schedule, which benefits consumer population and staff.Attend treatment team meetings as assigned.Ensure safety of consumers, preserving basic human and legal rights.Demonstrate appropriate and ethical behavior at all times.Demonstrate a positive attitude toward work and the completion of workassignments.Respond to phone calls/communication in a timely manner.Provide consultation and education to the general public as needed.Provide information about Diversion services to members of the generalpublic, judges, physicians and referral agencies to ensure proper treatment andservices.Meet or exceed productivity requirements of 88 billable hours per month.Update and post notes and services in Avatar daily.Represent the Organization in an accurate and professional manner.Seek clinical supervision and consultation as needed and actively work toenhance clinical skills.Document in a clear, concise manner, types of consumer problems, treatmentgoals and services provided.Documentation shows that forms, notes, logs, and other applicable writteninformation are completed promptly, accurately and updated when appropriate perIRMCH policy.Treat consumers with care, dignity and compassion and assist consumers andvisitors.Personal values do not inhibit ability to relate and care for others.Is sensitive to the consumer's needs, expectations and individualdifferences.Is gentle and calm with consumers and families and pleasant and cooperativewith others.Access appropriate community resources according to consumer needs.Ensure that all assigned duties are implemented according to IRBH and DMHpolicies and procedures.Ensure all safety, fire prevention, and health measures are followed whileon duty.Transport consumers in a company vehicle, ensuring that company vehicle isoperated in a safe manner and that appropriate staff are notified if there is anaccident or if the vehicle is in need of service.Ensure that agency vehicles have pre-trip inspections, monthly maintenancechecks, and provide report documentation to supervisor and Facilities Manager.If a company vehicle is not available utilize personal vehicle to accomplishwork related duties. Indian Rivers will reimburse mileage.Provides outreach community services (may require home visits) as requiredby supervisor or program standards.Maintain communication and awareness of current events by reading memos,e-mails, bulletin boards, and communication logs and respond in a timely manner.Work independently and/or with teams to complete assigned tasks accuratelyand in a timely manner with minimum supervision.Support Organizational Code of Conduct, Standards Compliance, HIPAA andSecurity Programs by ensuring job tasks are performed in a legal and ethicalmanner, assessing the work area for non-compliance and notifying the supervisor,manager, Executive Director or designee as appropriate, and maintaining trainingrequirements and understanding that training is a required condition ofemployment.Adhere to attendance and punctuality policy by allowing adequate time toarrive, clock-in and assume responsibilities at designated time, adhering tomeal and break times and making timely requests for annual leave and reportingthe need for sick leave in accordance with policy.Devote 40 hours of work per week to the completion of duties outlined in thejob description. More than 40 hours of work per week may be required to meet jobresponsibilities and ply with all standards related to safety and health by maintainingcurrent TB Test, CPR/First Aid, CPI, and by reporting infections and on-the-jobinjuries in accordance with policy.Identify opportunities for improving the quality of services provided by thedepartment and the organization.All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor orExecutive Director. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree in behavioral sciences required.At least 1 year experience in a community mental health setting preferred.Current Alabama driver's license and good driving record as defined byIndian Rivers' policy.Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Working Conditions, HIPAA, and Other Guidelines:Job Specifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must beable to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. Some risk involved in theevent of aggressive/out-of-control consumers.
