Having experienced exponential growth over the last year, our Legal team is adding a highly skilled Senior Counsel position. This critical role willbuild deep partnerships with our C-suite, providing expert advice on important topics such as business growth & development, commercial transactions, investment valuations and technology transfer.

Role Objective

This is a key, leadership role within the GOJO legal department, who provides autonomous legal expertise, guidance and partnership to GOJOs Supply Chain and Business Development work groups. The Senior Counsel role uses critical thinking to help safeguard the company and seize opportunities. Proactively partners with the business to offer creative legal solutions to complex business problems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Act as a lead legal advisor and business partner to assigned functional work groups as well as provide legal counsel as a subject-matter expert as appropriate to business units, project teams and executive leadership.
Structures, negotiates, and leads strategic transactions including technology transfers, IP transactions, capital investments, supply chain related agreements and Mergers & Acquisitions.
Simultaneously coordinates all aspects of multiple strategic transactions
Builds and maintains productive relationships with leaders of other functional areas within and across the business areas to seek alignment on objectives for the benefit of GOJO, including a liaison to senior corporate officers
Support internal and external legal counsel in investigating, managing and resolving conflicts and claims. Develops processes and policies to help advance the companys business objectives and promote an ethical and compliant workplace with high standards of industry leadership
Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations for the company
Assesses and manages risk to safeguard company and advises Leadership on risks and mitigation strategies
Coordinates with the Regulatory Affairs department on product compliance topics
Protects and promotes the companys trademarks and intellectual property
Participates in the development and implementation of strategy for the legal team, including legal operations, presents legal training and compliance programs
Substantial contact with customers, contractors, vendors, attorneys and other third parties.
Coordinates and manages legal advice with outside counsel

Education and Experience

JD degree with excellent academic credentials from a top-tier law school and license and in good standing to practice law in at least one state.
Ten or more years of demonstrated legal experience in a large law firm and/or in-house setting. In-house experience is preferred.
Ability to work closely with leadership and contribute to the success of the business by providing practical legal and business advice.
Significant experience providing legal advice on supply chain issues and matters.
Demonstrated negotiation experience.
Strong communications skills; able to clearly and concisely express technical information to non-technical colleagues.
Excellent writing, presentation and meeting facilitation skills.
The ability to socialize ideas, provide recommendations and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.
Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments.

Travel Requirements

Overnight Travel - sporadic - required.
