Job Summary: The IT Technical Specialist IV performs advanced IT activities for specialized, complex and/or functional areas requiring the expert knowledge and professional application of IT principles, practices and techniques in accordance with industry standards and university policy. Requires a great amount of evaluation, originality or ingenuity. May be responsible for training, assisting or supervising lower level IT personnel and other staff. May lead projects and cross-functional activities.

Additional Department Summary: The Audiovisual Crestron Programmer will be required to define standards for Crestron programming and create documentation. May have functional oversight for other staff. Will design and monitor installation of complex AV systems. Responsible for working with faculty and staff in the performance of duties as representatives of the department will be a daily task, and position may occasionally serve as a project manager during peak operations periods. Audiovisual Crestron Programmer will also be required to work independently and accomplish advanced AV systems work in areas of AV installation, commissioning, troubleshooting complex system issues, and advanced level control systems programming.

Troubleshooting AV problems with a classroom, conference room, or various AV space. Talking with end users about various AV needs. Programming complex AV systems with Crestron control processors, switchers, touchpanels. AV installs during peak times.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and one (1) year of IT experience; OR Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of IT experience; OR Associates degree and five (5) years of IT experience; OR High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years of IT experience. Knowledge of advanced programming, networking, system, multimedia, instructional or security technology skills or knowledge of project management methods and applications. May require advanced level training or certification.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have experience in Crestron programming and AV installation experience.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge: Proficient in Crestron and/or Extron installation, Simpl, Toolbox, VT-Pro, trouble shooting and programming experience preferred. Advanced knowledge of audio visual systems, particularly related to control system programming and interface design. Advanced knowledge of touch panel layouts, signal flow with complex AV systems. Able to follow wiring diagram, and able to design a complex AV system, able to program a Crestron system from a list of supplied equipment for the AV space. Working knowledge of customer service, dedication to build on project management skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with end-users. Ability to work, design independently. Ability to handle multiple programming projects simultaneously. Effective troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications: Advanced courses in Crestron Programming, DM classes, DM NVX and other industry standards. (QSC, BiAmp, Extron, CTS)
