Job Description:

The Remote Sensing Center at The University of Alabama is searching for a non-tenure/non-tenure track Research Assistant Professor in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and geophysical signal processing, sensors and image processing. The University of Alabama (UA) established the Remote Sensing Center to develop sensors for integration into manned and unmanned aircraft to perform airborne measurements of soil moisture, seasonal snow, soil moisture, and water storage in reservoirs, rivers and subsurface aquifers. The center will also be involved in developing signal processing algorithms and models as well as developing concepts for satellite missions to collect data on rainfall, soil moisture, snow and ice. Asst. Professor must have interest in Synthetic Aperture Radar and geophysical signal processing, sensors and ground probing radar, and are expected to contribute to ongoing research programs at the center and develop a research program that contributes to the center's growth and success.

DUTIES: * Contribute to the Synthetic Aperture Radar and geophysical signal processing, sensors or software development activities in the Remote Sensing center * Seek and obtain external funding to expand center research programs * Teach electrical engineering, and/or remote sensing related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels * Serve as a mentor to undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. students. * Provide service to the Center, University, profession, and society
