Job Description Job Description Job Title: Steel Estimator ($20-$30 per hour) Location: Montgomery, AL Job Type: Full-time Shift: Day shift Pay Range: $20-$30 per hour What You’ll Do - Review architectural and structural drawings, blueprints, and specifications - Prepare accurate material takeoffs for structural steel, misc. metals, and components - Develop detailed cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages - Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams - Identify cost?saving opportunities and value?engineering options - Coordinate with vendors for pricing on materials, freight, and subcontracted work - Assist in preconstruction planning and bid strategy meetings - Track and update estimates through project award and handoff What We’re Looking For: - 2 years of experience in steel estimating, construction estimating, or related field - Strong understanding of structural steel, fabrication processes, and metal components - Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents - Proficiency with estimating software (FabTrol, Bluebeam, Tekla, or similar) a plus - Excellent math, analytical, and communication skills - High attention to detail and ability to meet bid deadlines - Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Why Join Us?
