We Are Hiring:Department: NICUSchedule: Full time and PRN availableHospital: UAB St Vincent's BirminghamLocation: Birmingham, ALIn need of someone who is willing to work 24-hour shifts. The NP will be responsible for overseeing and collaborating with the care team to create a plan of care for acutely ill neonates. Neonatal Nurse Practioner NNP certification through NCC Required. Master's required.What You Will Do:In collaboration with a physician, provide for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examination. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies. Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.Document delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.What You Will Need:Licensure / Certification / Registration:BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.Certified Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hiredate or job transfer date.Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.Education:Master's degree of Nursing required.Additional Preferences:PRN candidates must have at least one (1) year NP NICU experience.About UAB St. Vincents:UAB St. Vincents, a proud part of UAB Medicine, is a trusted provider of health care, serving Alabama for more than 125 years.
