Job Description Job Description Director of Finance & Accounting Northeast Ohio (Cleveland / Kent area) Full-Time | Direct Hire Hybrid or On-Site (based on client need) About the Opportunity LHH is partnering with a growing, privately held organization in Northeast Ohio to identify a strategic and hands-on Director of Finance & Accounting . This leader will serve as a key business partner to executive leadership, overseeing all accounting operations, financial planning & analysis, and strategic financial initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance leader who thrives in a growth-oriented environment and wants to influence business strategy while maintaining strong operational oversight. Compensation • Base Salary: $135,000 - $175,000 (market range for Northeast Ohio) • Annual Bonus: 10% - 25% target (performance-based) • Long-Term Incentive: Potential equity or profit-sharing (depending on company structure) • Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, PTO Compensation is commensurate with experience, industry background, and scope of responsibility. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership • Partner with CEO and executive team to drive financial strategy and long-term planning • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes • Deliver data-driven insights to support growth initiatives and operational efficiency • Present financial results to Board and ownership (if applicable) Accounting & Compliance • Oversee general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting processes • Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls • Manage audit process and serve as primary liaison with external auditors • Oversee tax strategy in partnership with external advisors FP&A & Financial Management • Develop KPIs and financial dashboards • Analyze margin performance, cost structure, and cash flow • Lead working capital management and banking relationships • Support M&A due diligence and integration (if applicable) Team Leadership • Lead and develop accounting and finance staff (Controller, Senior Accountant, Analysts, etc.) • Drive process improvement and ERP optimization • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required • CPA or MBA preferred • 8-12 years of progressive finance/accounting leadership experience • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or middle-market environments preferred • Proven experience managing teams and partnering with executive leadership • Strong ERP and advanced Excel skills Ideal Profile • Strategic thinker with strong operational execution • Executive presence with ability to influence decision-making • Hands-on leader who can balance high-level strategy with tactical oversight • Growth mindset and continuous improvement orientation About LHH LHH is a global talent solutions provider helping organizations connect exceptional professionals with impactful opportunities.
